A conservative talk radio giant and one of the world’s leading tractor manufactures might make for a strange partnership, but such is the power of Memorial Day. Rush Limbaugh and Texas-based Mahindra USA (MUSA) are giving away one Mahindra Max 22 tractor to an active duty or veteran of the U.S. military through Rush Limbaugh’s Mahindra Tractors Military Salute Giveaway.
The tractor giveaway is open until 11:59 p.m. on May 25. A winner of the Max 22, which retails around $22,000, will be selected through a random drawing held on May 26. Nominations of active duty or veteran service members are accepted. The Max 22 will come equipped with a front-end loader and mid-mower.
“God bless all of you who protect our freedom. We are pleased to join with Mahindra USA in giving away one of their spectacular tractors to a deserving active duty or veteran of our military.”
MUSA is part of the multinational Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., which employs more than 180,000 people in more than 100 countries, and has been an advertiser in the past on The Rush Limbaugh Show. “I’d like to thank Mahindra, the world’s number one selling tractor, for their generosity. And God bless all of you who protect our freedom. We are pleased to join with Mahindra USA in giving away one of their spectacular tractors to a deserving active duty or veteran of our military,” said Rush Limbaugh in a Premiere Networks statement. A tractor giveaway for active duty or veteran military service members may prove attractive for a community who have proven receptive to farming as a vocation.
“We are honored to partner with Rush Limbaugh on the Military Salute Giveaway and give a special thanks to our nation’s heroes on Memorial Day. This is a great addition to our Mahindra Pride Military Appreciation Program and another way we can support our service men and women,” said Cleo Franklin, Mahindra’s vice president of marketing and strategic planning. “A pillar of Mahindra’s Rise initiative is to honor the people in our lives that make a difference in our communities, and our military and veterans truly make a difference, every day.”
By volume, Mahindra Group’s Automotive and Farm Sector ranks as the number one selling tractor brand in the world and has been an active supporter of the military through its Mahindra Pride Military Appreciation Program. That program offers a $200 rebate for active duty and retired U.S. and Canadian military personnel who purchase a new Mahindra tractor and qualifying implement.
”We launched this industry-first program in August 2012 as part of Mahindra’s Rise initiative of honoring the people in our lives that make a difference in our communities. Along with our partnership with Operation Finally Home, who works to provide custom-built, mortgage free homes to our heroes and their families, we have donated two houses and we look forward to help driving positive change in the lives of many more,” said Franklin in a company statement. The Mahindra Pride Military Appreciation Program was recently extended through December 2014. A similar effort, Mahindra Pride 1st Responders Appreciation Program, was launched in April for active duty or retired law enforcement, firefighter or emergency medical technician personnel at the federal, state or local level.
