Bold Alligator 2012 Highlights

The multinational Exercise Bold Alligator 2012, conducted in several locations along the mid-Atlantic coast, took place between Jan. 30 and Feb. 12, 2012 and was the first Marine Expeditionary Brigade level amphibious exercise of its size in the past ten years.

U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps units involved included the Enterprise Carrier Strike Group (CSG), Expeditionary Strike Group 2 (ESG-2), 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB), the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Naval Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC), and nine allied and partner nations providing maritime, land and air units or observers. The countries included Australia, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain and the United Kingdom.
